The road back includes returning the Green Goblin's body back to his son, Harry Osbourne. Through Peter's final stages of his journey Harry is the last challenge Peter has to endure because he has to see Harry after he has killed his father. Peter is shown as a true hero in his final test because only a true hero would make the decision to give the Green Goblin a proper burial despite all that he has done to him.
