What is wastewater?

Wastewater is water that is dirty or contaminated, usually from a toilet.

A couple of years ago, West Texas was in a severe drought, (stage five), that they had to start reusing water from toilets. It was nicknamed "toilet to tap" because that was literally what was happening.
