Infancy

After birth, I sought contact comfort from my parents, and began to form attachments to them. Because I was a human baby, I did not imprint. I was also faced the the choice to trust or mistrust* my caregivers (I chose trust).

As a baby, I couldn't do much, I used my senses to explore the world around me. However, I had no sense of object permanence, typical of the sensorimotor stage.

*Erik Erikson believed in discontinuity, and defined each period of life in stages defined by certain conflicts.
