Betty Cooper is a gutsy, loving, young woman. She puts those she cares about before herself, even if that affects herself negatively. Similarly, Alice was a caring woman that put her students before herself. She put a lot of effort and faith into Charlie in particular, even though both of their hearts ended up broken. Both Alice and Betty both have this caring instinct in common.
