Literal Sense

1.My bible verse was Matthews 5-6

2.It was written by Matthew the Apostle in 70-85 AD

3.One historical reference was when Jesus references Palestine in his preaching to his disciples and people of Jewish faith. Another was when Jesus refers to Jerusalem as being the city of the king back then.

4. A cultural reference would be when Jesus talks to his disciples on the laws they have to obey in order to go to heaven. Another cultural reference would be when Jesus refers to pagans when he talks about treating enemies like friends.

5. One vocabulary word found in Matthews 5-6 was Pagan. It means a person holding religious beliefs other than those of the main world religions. Another vocabulary term I found was Gehenna or a Jewish equivalent for hell.
