Mary Cassatt was a very interesting topic for my report, she spent of her life traveling. For five whole years Cassatt lived in Europe visiting places such as Paris, London, and Berlin. Mary Cassatt also dropped out of art school because of the slow instructing and the attitude the male students and teachers gave her. In 1868 one of Cassatt's paintings " a mandolin player" made it into the Paris salon. Sad times came upon Mary when her sister Lydia died, she couldn't work on her art for many months. Edgar degas was a good friend of Mary Cassatt's. He was the one who invited her to join the impressionists a group of artist who stood up for what they believed in. Mary's first art show with the impressionists was on April 10 1879.
