Fransiscans

Monastic order. Founded by Francis of Assisi, Francis did not intend to make a religious order but his qualities attracted many followers. 1209, Francis got permission from Pope Innocent lll for he and his followers to preach. The group wanted to set an example for Christianity through their own lives, owned no property, they survived through the charity of others. Many of Francis followers were unhappy with the current state of the Catholic church. Christianity. Against hersey.
