Statement of puRpose ESSAY for CSU

BEFORE

• Personal Motivation story: Growing up in poverty and then becoming upper middle class, yet grades behind in school. This situation motivated me to become a change agent in providing high quality education for ALL learners.

AFTER

Personal Motivation story: Shortly after starting this program, I had a high risk pregnancy and delivery. I have persistent health problems as a result (baby is fine!). This made me have to take a year off of my studies in this program. Having to negotiate between personal health needs, childcare needs, and needs for accomplishing studies has made me grateful for supports I have, for the very life I have, and for the path I’m on educationally.
