Founded in the 6th Century B.C.E. by Laozi
-Practiced by around 20,000 people in East Asia
-No Deity
-Daozang is the canon, a poetic volume written by Laozi described Daosim
-Officials in Daoism were priests, usually male
-Beliefs- unified view of the world, the strong survive and the weak lose, politics are man made and should not be considered true, nature should be respected and a large part of everyday life
-Yin and Yang is the famous symbol from Daoism
-Holy days included the winter solstice, and the birthday of the Jade Emperor
-Worship often happened in nature but temples were also built
-White Cloud Temple in China, mountains also considered sacred
