-Incas settled around lake Titicaca around the mid thirteenth century
-About 1438, Pachacuti expanded the empire to the coastal kingdom of Chimu
-By the late fifteenth century, the Incas empire was 4,000 kilometers and stretched from modern Quito to Santiago
