Incan Development

-Incas settled around lake Titicaca around the mid thirteenth century

-About 1438, Pachacuti expanded the empire to the coastal kingdom of Chimu

-By the late fifteenth century, the Incas empire was 4,000 kilometers and stretched from modern Quito to Santiago

-It encompassed most all of modern Peru, most of Ecuador, much of Bolivia, and parts of Chile and Argentina.

-The tropical rainforests and Pacific Ocean limited expansion in the west and east.

-had a population of about 11.5 million people
