Another example of influence of power is how Cady comes into the school and is immediately seen as weak by Regina so she is taken in to the "plastics".

The fact that Gretchen and Karen both follow Regina around proves that she has power over the other girls. Regina is incredibly mean but because the girls want to be popular and be "plastic", they deal with the rude comments every day.
