The Janissaary Corps, an elite group formally made of slaves and war prisoners but soon became trained military units, were used as bodyguards to the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.

Suleyman the Magnificent was a prominent ruler in all aspects of his kingdom; military, political, social, economic, etc. He was also played a key role in huge Crusades, as he attacked Christian strongholds and captured and claimed them as Islamic territory.

Twelver Shiism is a type of Shiism, in which the Twevlers accept the imams of Ali, They were also seen as lawmakers in the Ottoman Empire.
