Summary
Albert and Joey form an unbreakable friendship as they grow up with each other. But that all changes when World War I started. Albert’s father, needing money, sold Joey to the war, he was now a “war horse.” In the war, Joey went on man adventures throughout the war, meeting many people and changing there attitude toward the war. When Joey is injured on barbed wire, he is taken to a nearby Animal Center. There, Joey meets up with Albert again, who joined the war and worked at the Animal Center in hope to see Joey again. Albert nursed Joey back to health and soon after WWI ended, and Albert took Joey back home and lived together.
