Marguerite

She's the one who got the egg, Arnold, as she would later learn, and became friends with him. She was granted one wish; she chose to set Arnold free with that wish.

Arnold

Arnold is the wish, and he takes form in the crow and the egg. He becomes friends with Marguerite, and she uses her one wish to set him free. A boy then moves next door to Marguerite, and his name just so happens to be Arnold.
