Common Name: Chicory
Scientific Name: Chichorium intybus

The chicory is a common roadside weed that grows so densely that it sometimes looks like it was planted. The chicory starts blooming in late spring usually in July and goes until around September. Each blossom only opens once. The chicory opens as the sun rises, but usually closes by midday when the sun is strongest.
