Information on Krewes

Krewes are any sort of group that comes together to host a Mardi Gras party or make a float and be a participant in events during the year. More than 60 Krewes are involved in Louisiana durning Mardi Gras.

Most groups gather in the french Quarter when celebrating Mardi Gras. They celebrate by wearing beads, masks and costumes that average about 50 pounds. The costumes they wear actually make fun of french noble ladies.
