Magellan's Voyage

Ferdinand Magellan visited many ports in the Indian Ocean basin and traveled as far east as the spice islands of Maluku, which he thought were close to the western coast of the Americas, the purpose of his expeditions was to try and establish a western route to Asian markets, but ultimately failed.
