-Grew up in a German city named Heidelberg.

-Always dreamed of being a mathematician but followed in his fathers footsteps of becoming an architect.

-Studied at technical schools and earned an architectural license in 1927.

-Married his girlfriend named Margarethe Weber after school which his family disapproved of.
