Where

The first radars were developed by US army were used for controlling anti aircraft gunfire and detecting aircraft. Both were used at the beginning of WWII. These were used to detect  the approach of Japanese warplanes and ships toward Pearl Harbor on December, 7, 1941. In the 1930's the English government  began to speed up research on radar when they saw a possibility for German attacks.
