There was serious planning before Operation Overlord could take place. First, the Allies needed a plan on to deceive the Nazis into thinking they were going to attack Pas-de-Calais instead of Normandy’s beaches. President Roosevelt appointed General Dwight. D Eisenhower to undergo planning for D-Day and to initiate the invasion. On top of placing false military weapons, during the planning time, the Allies utilized radios to send false commands about the invasion back to England which were purposely intercepted by the Nazis.
