I fought, but the hand at the back of my neck was strong and I had to hold my breath. I'm dying, I thought and wondered what was happening to Johnny. I couldn't hold my breath any longer. I fought again desperately but only sucked in water. I'm drowning ... A red haze filled my mind and I slowly relaxed.

It comes in waves, I close my eyes. Hold my breath and let it bury me ... Who will fix me now? Dive in when I'm down? Save me from myself, don't let me drown. Who will make me fight? Drag me out alive. Save me from myself don't let me drown.

In the scene Pony is feeling weak and closes his eyes which in the song it says "I close my eyes and let it bury me" and they say that in a sense of surrender but they both also say of how they try to fight, with Pony fending off the Socs, while the song says to fend the weight of the world.
