Joseph Hooker
The Battle of Chancellorsville was Joseph Hookers great defeat. During the early years of the war, Hooker had a confident attitude that earned him a defiant reputation. He talked back to his superiors. When Lincoln appointed him to leader, he started off doing well. He was able to help the soldiers and improve tactics. It was a great loss to his ego when Lee out smarted him. Joseph Hooker surrendered in the battle of Chancellorsville.
