John Dalton

John Dalton was born September 6, 1776 in Eaglesfield, England. He was very poor as a child, and began teaching at a school when he was 12. At 15 he ran a school for Quakers with his brother. At age 23, he began studying law and medicine. At age 27, he was a teacher at New College in Manchester. He was color blind, and studied colorblindness. He began new studies, and in 1803, he presented his first list of atomic weights for a number of substances.
