Anagogical Sense

Christians can use this passage to encourage themselves to have more faith and trust in God. The Jewish people had so much faith in God that they were risking their lives for their ability to practice Christianity. This passage is teaching us to trust God as much as the Jewish people that revolted against Antiochus IV Epiphanes.
