Sunny Chapter 24 Spanish and Portuguese Imperial rule over its new founded territory of Latin America.
The Spanish extended their control over Latin America gradually with the explorers who conquered the lands of Latin America. The Spanish established two main centers of authority, one in Mexico and Peru. They established viceroys who governed and listened directly from the king. The viceroys held considerable amounts of power because they controlled everything in the territories that they founded. The viceroys established cities in the new world, The jurisdiction of the viceroys reached from Mexico City as far as St. Augustine in Florida. In Portugal established imperial rule in Brazil, they sighted the treaty of Versailles which divided it into two. The Portuguese king decided to claim that land because of the agricultural uses of the land. In Brazil the Portuguese set up their governing system to where the conquering adventurers took portions of the land that they named after their country.
