Threats
-Outside Threat: In August of 1792, an army of 80,000 men (half Prussian, half Austrian) marched into France. Each of these neighboring monarchies were afraid that the Revolution would spread to their own countries.
-Inside Threat: In the spring of 1793, a counterrevolution broke out, particularly in the Vendée region. These people were mostly priests and aristocrats that didn't want to lose their power in the absolute monarchy.
