Early career in Nazi Party

-After serving in war, and attending multiple universities for journalism, he became involved in the mass media radio for the German government

-On May 1st, 1933 he joined NSDAP (National Socialist German's Worker Party)

-Under Joseph Goebbels' Reich Ministry he continued to head the radio department before being promoted to the News Section at the Ministry

-Made chief of Home Press Division in December 1938

-Returned to head of the ministry after Goebbels took personal control in May of 1942
