AGRICULTURE

The Greeks first practiced agriculture of the ancient Mediterranean region. They were the first to cultivate grains, vines, olives, and raised to sheep, cattle, and goats. The main challenge they had to face was that they had very little land that was suitable for farming. Land shortages were always a problem even through ancient times.  They had to rely on sea trade which eventually led to social tension and the rise of democracy.
