Treatment

Dwarfs may live a very short life or a normal life depending completely on the type of dwarfism that the person has. Having dwarfism can make everyday life difficult without modifications. Things such as foot stools and ladders also help with around the house activities.

Life Expectancy and Quality of Life

No cure or specific treatment for achondroplasia. If any complications arise, then the doctor will address those issues. Some doctors use growth hormones to increase the growth rate of a child's bones. However, their long-term effects on height have not yet been established.
