Radio and Film Career
- In 1925, McDaniel became one of the first black women to be on the radio while performing on Denver's KOA station
- Moved to Hollywood, California where her brother and sister lived
- Brother was able to get her a small role on the radio show "The Optimistic Do-Nuts", which that opportunity made her a hit on the show
- In 1934, McDaniel was casted in Judge Priest
- In 1935, she was casted in The Little Colonel as " Mom Beck"
