- Soon her father and stepmother separated and he moved to London to improve his practices as a doctor

- Elizabeth and her sister had to live with their uncle while he was gone

- Elizabeth experienced a period of depression during this time, feeling the separation as loss of a second mother, and she often reflected in her journals

- In these journals Elizabeth showed her love for nature, poetry, and music, especially the piano

- Her journals expressed her religious aspirations, as well as favorite passages from her readings

- She fell in love and married William Seton and had a son

- William fell ill so they traveled to Italy to try to cure him

- He passed away and Elizabeth found comfort in the Bible and the church

- She officially became Catholic in 1805

- Feast day is January 4
