Why DOES IT Matter more and More for Archivists and Librarians?

First, we assume that archivists and librarians must know and understand the basis of the services they provide, and understanding the basis for the production and delivery of information services in 2015 requires a knowledge of computing and networking


Second, it is assumed that librarians and archivists function as custodians of public knowledge, and that effective management of artifacts for which they are responsible requires an understanding of the information technologies used to produce, distribute, and provide access to those artifacts.
