"I BELIEVE I CAN CHANGE THE WORLD"

Vitual Reality is defined as "An artificial environment created with computer hardware and software and presented to the user in such a way that it appears and feels like a real environment.”  In 1989 Jaron Lanier, founder of VPL research, coined the term Virtual Reality. This loosely defined word which was used to include everything from virtual worlds, to virtual environments, was soon to become one of the most researched and developed areas in the computer industry today, with Government and Educational institutes trying to gain an edge in this 21 century topic.

With the evolution of the internet and the upcoming Internet2 which includes such realities as Immersion Telepresence, virtual reality is sure to be one of this centuries most unexplored territories, much like when Columbus sailed the high seas in search of The New World.
