4. Battle of Chaldiran

The Battle of Chaldiran, where the Ottomans fought the Safavid state, was important because it started an intermittent conflict with the two countries for the next 200 years. This was because even though the Ottomans made a reasonable about of damage to the Sadavids, it was not enough to destroy it completely (even though they had advanced weapons that the other army did not have) which started a new era of fighting between the two nations.
