Crops are genetically modified for different reasons. One of the objectives is to improve crop rotation. The genetically modified crops on the market are mainly aimed at an increased level of crop protection through the introduction of resistance against plant diseases caused by insects, viruses, or through increased tolerance towards herbicides.
Why?
Some countries will now allow genetically modified crops to be grown in their country. The two main reasons so many countries are doing this is due to the environmental and health-related concerns.
In my opinion, I feel like GMOs are not safe. There have been studies that have shown bad effects such as harm to the kidneys, liver, heart, and other organs.
