The doctor also informed me that Emma has a neural tube defect. It's a spinal and brain abnormalities. Spina bifida occurs when lower parts or the neural tube doesn't close properly during test development which leaves the spinal cord exposed and it can get easily damaged. Growing up Emma might have a hard time walking because her muscles will be weak. This can't be cured but I can get her treatment in order for her to live a more active life. I can get her a brace or she can get physiotherapy or if it gets really severe she can always get surgery.
