Flooding of the River
The Huang He River has been responsible for many deadly and destructive floods. Some of the world's most deadly natural disasters took place near the Huang He River. In the great flood of 1332 AD, more than seven million people died. Before modern dams were built the river flooded 1,593 times, and the river has changed course more than twenty times. Many villages and farmland get destroyed. During the Warring States Period, states would flood the land around the Huang He of rival states.
