Sabre-toothed tigers lived in the mid-western US and parts of both North and South America and were named for their long fang like teeth that extend from their mouth.Saber-tooth cats lived in grasslands, shrubby areas, and pine forests that provided food for the plant-eating animals that saber-tooth cats ate. The saber tooth is a meat-eater. Scientist say the saber tooth ate thick skinned animals such as elephants or bison.
