1. Why did the Egyptians use salt in their mummification process?

I think they used salt because they knew it would preserve the body. If they didn't the mummy would have decade over time and as they think it would not have a happy afterlife. I think they wouldn't even have an afterlife.

2. Scientifically, what is its purpose?

I think that it's purpose is to preserve the mummy (potato) so that they won't die but actually stay "alive." But I think that the Egyptians thought that if the body was preserved with all of its things as well then it would have a happy afterlife.

3. What is going to happen to my mummy (potato)?

I think that my potato will look the same but feel very different and I think it will smell very bad. He firm will look very different.
