World War I was a major conflict fought between several countries between 1914 and 1918 on European land. The two major powers were the Allied Powers (France, Russia, Britain, and the US) and the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria).

How did it end?

The war ended in 1918 with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. Over 37 million people had died within the war.
