Gertrude Stein
Was an American writer and poet.
Her house was a meeting place for many artists.
The Stein's old car didn't work anymore and, at the garage, the young boy didn't fix it as he should. So the boss invoked him saying « You all are a Lost Generation ».
Gertrude immediately turned the phrase to Hemingway, saying that all the young people who took part to the war were a lost generation, with no respect for anything.
