Ernest Hemingway, offers us, in A Moveable Feast, a very useful description of the landscape where the Lost Generation lived: the protagonists are Montmartre, the art galleries, the bookshops, and the cafè as a meeting place; he wrote that « Paris was simply the best place on earth to work, and, forever, the most beloved city ».
