Step two

The dry, salted body of the mummy.

Dehydrating the body

We placed the body in salt to remove the moisture, preparing it for mummification. It was kept in for two weeks, and after, we were almost done.

We placed the body in regular table salt, which worked to dehydrate the body. In this case, we used the coffin to store the salt, which created the illusion that it was already mummified. This was the same potato as the one we had cut before, however, it was dehydrated.
