oBrief teaser: This chapter book provides an oversight as to what Autism Spectrum Disorder is and how individuals with ASD live normal lives a little differently.

oFocus concept/ strategy: Ask the student’s if they know someone with ASD. If they do, ask them to describe them and if they fit the characteristics of ASD as described in the book. If the students don’t know anyone with ASD, I will describe my many friends with ASD. Focus on similarities among the students and the friends with ASD.
