Due to the geography surrounding Tenochtitlan, the Aztec's occupied a cornucopia of food.
A method of agriculture was later developed known as Chinampas. This involved drudging the soil from the lake bed inwhich was rich with nutrients, and creating rectangular islands of land inwhich they grew crops on.
Even before Aztec Society became fully prominent and emerged, it was wealthy and had a prosperous economy.
