The emergence of the Aztec empire.
By Kayley Bunting
The Aztecs, also known as Mexica's arrived in Central Mexico during the 13th century.
The Aztecs were very pugnacious. They wandered and fought in the region with other groups for a century.
About 1345, they settled on the island Tenochititlan, which sat on Lake Texcoco. Tenochititlan happens to be modern day Mexico City.
