The Birth of Jesus

Matthew 1: 18-25

Luke 2: 2-21

Matthew's version of the Birth of Jesus does not go into much detail. It is very summarized and to the point. The passage is shorter than Luke's and accounts less events in the context.

Luke's version of the Birth of Jesus is much longer, has many details, and imagery in the text. It starts with a very descriptive paragraph of what the time period was like. Then it goes into even more detail about Joseph and Mary and the events that lead up to Jesus's birth. It tells the classic story with the manger and the stable.
