Original vanilla was first mentioned during the time of the Aztecs, Mayans and Olmecs.

-Nicolas- Theodore Gobley classified pure vanilla as a substance which led Ferdinand Thiemann and Wilhelm Harman to solve the chemical structure of vanilla.

-From there on, Karl Reimer was able to chemically produce vanillin.

-In the19th century it was discovered that clove oil could produce semisynthetic vanilla that everyone from around the world could use.
