The Bronze Age happened about 3500BC. The old Stone Age was fashioning chipped stone tools, so tin, copper and bronze was super useful, because they could create more durable weapons and tools.

Smelting was actually discovered before the Bronze Age. At around 4000BC, is the earliest known time of smelting metal. And surprisingly, Ötzi was found with a copper axe, so scientists think that smelting may have gone even further!

When Did The Bronze Age Occur? When was smelting discovered?
