Producers

At the bottom of the food chain is the plants. These plants obtain their food through photosynthesis. An example of these plants include the Sierra Palm, Tabonuco Tree, and Hibiscus. The Puerto Rican hibiscus is the state flower. They are know for their pink to red color. The flower features five overlapping petals. The El Yunque rainforest is full of plams with the most abundant being the Sierra Palm. This palm is known for their large roots that cling to the wet forest ground. Lastly the Tabonuco Tree is also native to Puerto Rico. These trees have large trucks which will be perfect for holding our tiny house above ground
